We exist to empower and revive the outdoor community of the Rogue Valley.

Who we can help

Athletes & Volunteers

REC empowers community
members to volunteer as well as participate. We facilitate run groups, group rides, group swims, and group HITT workouts. We believe that organized group workouts build the community to participate in and volunteer at our local events.

Businesses

REC provides the only comprehensive Outdoor Event Calendar in the Rogue Valley.

REC acts as a central hub for businesses that benefit
from event tourism by connecting business to events and outdoor consumers through meaningful and fun experiences.

Race Directors

 We offer race equipment such as PA systems and timing equipment to race directors, free of cost.  We provide volunteers and volunteer training, such as course marshaling. We assist in
acquiring affordable event
insurance and marketing support.

Community

REC works with city
governments to develop
more streamlined permitting
processes, train volunteers
and develop grants. REC
supports community
members by offering
resources leading up to and
during events.

WHY IT’S NEEDED

Too many races and events in the Rogue Valley have disappeared — not because people stopped caring, but because organizers ran out of support.

We are a nonprofit built to remove those barriers.

We provide volunteers, equipment, marketing assistance and operational support to races, event organizers, non profits and local businesses working to create connections through outdoor recreation.

Entry to outdoor recreation events can include a lot of hurdles for community members: cost,
gear, time and training information. REC consolidates this information and makes it easily
accessible.

GOALS

     

      • Facilitate outdoor engagement and enjoyment for athletes of all backgrounds and skill levels, promoting active lifestyles and enjoyment.
      • Cultivate a robust network of volunteers and events within the community to organize sustainable, high-quality activities.
      • Promote the development of events that are attractive to significant sponsorship, enhancing their ability to support charitable causes effectively.
      • Enhance the appeal and consistency of local events through the establishment of a comprehensive calendar and points series.
      • Establish a centralized hub for events to streamline logistics, reduce insurance costs, recruit skilled volunteers, secure major sponsorships, and provide access to necessary equipment.
